FC Barcelona wins European League

The team of FC Barcelona won the European League after defeating FC Porto by 3-1, in the final game, played in Barcelona, with around 5 000 attendees. This is the 20th time that FC Barcelona wins the competition in 49 editions. Before 2007/08 the competition was called European Champions Cup.

The European League Final Four will be disputed in Barcelona, starting today with the semi-finals games.

SL Benfica European Champion

The team of SL Benfica got its first European League title, after beating 6-5 FC Porto in the Final game held at Porto. The game ended with a 5-5 score, and a golden goal of Diogo Rafael gave the victory for the team of Lisbon.

This is the first time after 22 years, that a Portuguese team wins the European league. Last time, was in 1990/91, with the victory of OC Barcelos.

Pedro Gil (ASH Valdagno) was the best scorer of the European League with 22 goals, followed by Jordi Bargalló (HC Liceo) with 15, Gonçalo Alves (UD Oliveirense), Carlos Nicolia (Valdagno) and Reinaldo Ventura (FC Porto), with 13 goals each.

Porto and Benfica will decide the European title

FC Porto and SL Benfica will decide the European League tomorrow at 17,00 local time in Porto.

Massimo Tataranni best goaler in European League

The Italian player Massimo Tataranni, from ASH Valdagno, was the best goaler in European League 2012, with 19 goals, followed by Jordi Bargalló (HC Liceo) with 12, Marc Torra (FC Barcelona), Reinaldo Ventura (FC Porto) and Pedro Gil (FC Porto), all with 11 goals.
